GT vs KKR Highlights: Gujarat Titans knocked out after washout in Ahmedabad, Kolkata Knight Riders secure top-two finish
Gujarat Titans’ hopes of qualifying for the IPL playoffs were dashed on Monday when their must-win match against Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out by rain without a ball being bowled.
This result assured KKR of a top-two finish with 19 points from 13 games and a place in Qualifier 1. Meanwhile, GT, last year’s runners-up, and the 2022 champions, are out of the playoff race, having earned only 11 points from 13 matches.

The toss was delayed at the scheduled time of 7 PM due to persistent lightning, followed by a drizzle that gradually became heavier.
The cut-off time for a five-over match was 10:56 PM, but officials decided to abandon the match, the first such instance in this IPL, due to the relentless rain and wet outfield.
“It’s a big achievement for us. The talk before the game (vs GT) was about not letting up and maintaining the right attitude. GG (Gautam Gambhir) has been clear on how he wants us to play as a team and emphasized looking for two points,” said Kolkata’s opener Phil Salt as the teams waited for the rain to stop.
KKR secured their playoff spot after defeating Mumbai Indians in their previous game.
