Despite a brisk start from DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk, the team struggled as wickets fell regularly. Swapnil Singh dismissed David Warner early, and Yash Dayal removed Abhishek Porel soon after.

The young Australian batter was run out in a stroke of misfortune off the bowler’s hand. While Axar Patel, stepping in as captain for the suspended Rishabh Pant, fought bravely with a half-century, his teammates’ consistent loss of wickets and lack of support sealed the victory for RCB.
Axar Patel, leading the team in Pant’s absence, who was suspended for one match due to slow over-rates, chose to field first after winning the toss.
